Methodology
One source, measured the same way since 1 July 2015. That consistency is the entire reason a cricketer and a quarterback can appear on the same board.
What is counted
Daily Wikipedia pageviews for 19,666 people, 2,462 teams and 207 leagues. Not social followers, not broadcast ratings, not search volume. One measure, applied identically, for eleven years.
Stabilized views
A median week multiplied out to a year, plus a discounted share of exceptional spikes. It answers what someone draws on an ordinary week rather than what a single tournament did for them.
Views above expectation
Actual views divided by what that person or club normally draws in that part of the calendar. A value of 1.0 means a normal week. Crimson on the site means above baseline, blue means at or near it. The ratio is capped at 25×, so ties at the ceiling are common in a busy week.
Where it breaks
Attention is not approval. A scandal and a hat-trick move the same number in the same direction, and nothing here distinguishes them.
Athlete pageviews still include automated traffic, running roughly 5 to 12 percent above human figures. Teams and leagues have been re-pulled on human traffic only. Do not compare an athlete number and a club number on the same axis until both are converted.
League-logo coverage is still partial; a missing mark falls back to an abbreviation rather than a broken image.
Attention-implied value is calibrated against known salaries and holds well at the top of the board. It degrades further down, where reported salaries are sparser and the model has less to anchor against. It is shown as supporting context and nothing on the site is ranked by it.
Known limits
English Wikipedia captures roughly 41 percent of global views for these subjects. Multilingual coverage is in progress and will change numbers when it lands.
Two people who share a name share a page, and the page wins. Where a spike looks implausible for the person named, a title collision is the first thing to suspect.
Corrections
Every correction is logged with a date and left in place. Nothing is quietly edited.
